This program
is designed for individuals living at a distance from the
clinic and unable to participate in an extended period of
care. This program is structured so that patients come to
the San Rafael area for brief stays (from one to two weeks,
Monday through Friday) and that they experience an
accelerated regimen of treatment at the clinic. The first
day of Intensive Care includes the initial examination and a
Chiropractic treatment. Subsequent days include two
treatments of Logan Basic Chiropractic. (See
"Logan
Basic Chiropractic Technique"
for a discussion of this treatment and the benefits of this
approach.) Within a period of five days, a person will have
experienced ten sessions. This program
is designed for those patients who live locally and/or who
do not require an accelerated program. Treatment begins with
an initial examination and treatment. A typical program
includes Chiropractic care three times weekly for from two
to four weeks. A nutritional work-up and stress reduction
techniques may be suggested depending upon the patient's
history and the results of the intial
examination. This program
is designed for people who have completed either the
Intensive Care or Corrective Care Programs and who wish to
return to the Clinic on a regular basis for preventive care.
A Chiropractic session every four to six weeks is
recommended, with a nutritonal work-up once or twice yearly.
Ongoing factors of structural balance, dietary and digestive
imbalances and emotional stressors will be considered in an
overall program to maintain wellness. (See "The
Wellness Program"
for a discussion of the benefits of preventive
care.)
Those patients who have experienced health conditions that
are difficult to resolve, such as chronic illnesses or the
serious "big label" illnesses (such as Cancer or Arthritis),
could find this approach helpful. When a condition has been
"stuck" for a long time, one often needs a concerted "push"
for the body to initiate or accelerate self-healing.
It is strongly recommended that individuals undergoing the
Intensive Care Program also avail themselves of the clinic's
nutritional work-up recommendations (unless this aspect of
treatment has already been addressed). It is, however, not a
requirement. (See "Nutritional
Healing"
for information on the Center's approach to diagnosing and
correcting nutritional and digestive imbalances.)
In addition, attention will be paid to the ways in which
stress may be contributing to a patient's condition. Various
stress reduction techniques may also be recommended. (See
"Stress
Syndrome and the Adaptive
Response"
for a discussion of the role stress plays in modern-day life
and wellness.)
